PHUKET, Thailand – A 28-year-old French tourist was rushed to Vachira Phuket Hospital after shooting himself in the head at Kathu Shooting Range on 28 September, with police now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The man, identified only as William, was found wounded inside the range in Kathu subdistrict and given first aid by officers before being transferred to hospital. Lieutenant Colonel Natthayan Suphanphong of Kathu Police Station was alerted by the station’s radio centre and informed superintendent Colonel Chalermchai Hersawat before inspecting the scene.

According to the range supervisor, William purchased 10 rounds of ammunition before entering the firing area and shot roughly four or five rounds at targets before raising the weapon to his head and firing once. Police said the inquiry is at an early stage, with officers gathering witness accounts and other evidence before proceeding under standard procedures.
