Relatives discovered the three bodies inside a single-storey concrete home in Nong Phak Nak subdistrict on 28 September. Thiranyada, 45, was found dead in the bathroom beside a toilet with a single gunshot wound to the head, while her young son lay dead in a bedroom, with the police report not detailing his injuries. Athiphong, 42, was found in the middle of the house with a gunshot wound near his left ear. Investigators initially described him as a friend of the woman.
The shooting took place in the early hours of 27 September. The gunman, identified as Chatchai Klayklang of Huai Krachao, Kanchanaburi, claimed he had asked Thiranyada to stop contacting Athiphong and that she agreed, but he secretly entered the house that day, saw the two together and shot Athiphong first, then Thiranyada in the bathroom. He denied shooting the six-year-old, saying the gun discharged accidentally.

The dead man’s wife arrived at the scene unaware her husband was among the victims, learning of it only when someone called her, and said he had been missing for three to four days. Investigators from Suphan Buri and Region 7 Police reviewed CCTV footage of the suspect’s escape route before a friend arranged his surrender at U Thong Police Station, where he had been hiding in Huai Krachao, Lao Khwan district. He was taken to recover the weapon, then questioned at Sam Chuk Police Station, charged with intentional homicide and carrying firearms and ammunition in public without permission, with evidence being compiled ahead of his transfer to Suphan Buri Provincial Prison.
