Thailand will be holding the next general election within the next 16-18 months or two months faster than earlier scheduled in the military junta’s roadmap to democracy, deputy prime minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said yesterday.

His assurance came as he briefed foreign diplomats and representatives of international organisations on the country’s democracy roadmap.
