Two Women Killed by Drunk Driver in Bangkok’s Thong Lor
BANGKOK, Thailand – A Thai woman and a German woman died early on 3 October after being hit by a car while crossing the road in Bangkok’s Thong Lor area, with police saying the driver was over the legal alcohol limit and now faces charges of drink-driving causing death.

Officers were called at about 3.15am to the crash near the entrance of Soi Thong Lor 3 in Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana district, where they found two seriously injured women: 23-year-old Thai national T. Y. and 22-year-old German national M. T. Both were rushed to hospital, but the Thi woman died at Sukhumvit Hospital and the German one at Samitivej Hospital.
At the scene, police detained 28-year-old K. S., who identified himself as the driver of an MG HS PHEV. Officers said he appeared intoxicated, and a breathalyser recorded a blood alcohol reading of 145 milligrammes per cent — above the legal limit.
