Former Pheu Thai Surin MP jailed for lese majeste

BANGKOK, Dec 3 – Thailand’s Criminal Court today sentenced former Pheu Thai MP for Surin Prasit Chaisisa to two years and six months jail for his May 2014 speech insulting the royal institution.

The punishment is not suspended as he repeated his wrongdoing.
