Nine Dead, Seven Districts Submerged as Floods Devastate Prachin Buri

PRACHIN BURI, Thailand – Prachin Buri has emerged as one of the hardest-hit provinces in Thailand’s flood crisis, with all seven districts declared disaster zones, 55,286 households affected and nine people confirmed dead.

Flood Alerts Expand as Rain Persists Across Thailand

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul toured the province on Sunday to gauge conditions and hear residents’ complaints and pleas for assistance. Medical teams have requested extra suction machines, ventilators and IV pumps, while Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital has moved several inpatients to a field hospital at Chakrapong Military Hospital.

At a flood shelter, the prime minister offered moral support to the elderly, patients, residents and volunteers, promising compensation for home repairs once the waters recede. Two shelters now house more than 400 people, with meals served three times daily.

Thai PM Orders 76 Provinces To Prepare For Rain

Muang district remains under roughly a metre of water, leaving roads impassable for small vehicles. Residents are wading through waist-deep water or taking boats to leave their homes, with rescue workers offering free boat services to those stranded.
