Floods Persist Across 26 Provinces and Bangkok, Affecting 3.5 Million

BANGKOK, Thailand – Flooding continues to disrupt lives in Bangkok and 26 provinces, most of them on the Central Plain, with about 3.52 million people affected, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation said Monday.

Nine Dead, Seven Districts Submerged as Floods Devastate Prachin Buri

In the North, Lampang’s Thoen district reported 15 affected families as water levels fell, while Nakhon Sawan saw 10,905 families hit across 12 districts as the flood receded.

On the Central Plain, Uthai Thani’s levels dropped but 4,785 families remained affected, Lop Buri’s Ban Mi district saw waters retreat with 1,177 families hit, and Chai Nat’s four flooded districts held stable with 5,872 families affected. Sing Buri faced rising water affecting 1,243 families, Suphan Buri’s levels climbed, hitting 28,453 families, and Kanchanaburi’s floodwater fell in five districts, where two people died and 1,073 families were affected.

Ang Thong’s waters rose across five districts with 1,938 families in trouble, Saraburi’s declined with one death and 2,165 families affected, and Ayutthaya’s floods deepened across 16 districts, leaving one dead and 53,831 families struggling. Samut Prakan recorded eight deaths and 223,346 affected families as waters receded, Pathum Thani’s levels rose with 246,818 families hit, and Nakhon Pathom saw 21,488 families affected as levels fell.

Ratchaburi’s floodwater troubled 17,230 families while declining, Samut Songkhram’s three districts saw lower levels with 22,357 families affected, and Phetchaburi’s levels held steady with six families hit.

In the East, Nakhon Nayok’s waters stayed stable with 53,928 families affected, Prachin Buri recorded seven deaths as floods receded, Chachoengsao’s levels rose with 63,071 families hit, Chon Buri’s waters fell with 118,723 families affected, Rayong’s levels declined with 360 families hit, and Chanthaburi’s waters dropped in two districts where two died and 7,000 families were affected.

Flood Alerts Expand as Rain Persists Across Thailand

In the Northeast, Buri Ram’s levels fell across 63 villages, Chaiyaphum’s dropped with 81 families affected, and Surin’s subsided across 36 villages. Bangkok’s flood levels eased, with about 329,000 families affected and four deaths reported.
