BANGKOK, Thailand – Rainfall has eased across the capital and much of the country, though several communities remain submerged, according to the Joint Information Communication Centre’s 29 September update. In Bangkok, Ram Inthra, Khlong Chan and Rom Klao are still significantly flooded, with officials expecting a return to normal within two to three days provided heavy rain does not resume.

Residents along the Mae Klong River in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Samut Songkhram have been warned of possible rising water levels. In the east, Prachin Buri, Rayong and Sa Kaeo remain under close watch: floodwaters in Kabin Buri have peaked and should recede as the rain lets up, but downstream flows toward Mueang Prachin Buri could still overtop flood barriers.

The public is urged to follow official updates and check with local officials before evacuating or returning home.

Thai Airways Grounds 14 Flights as Bangkok Flooding Hits Airport Operations

At Suvarnabhumi Airport, baggage delays continue as flooding around the airport has reduced Thai Airways staff availability, with customs processing adding to the backlog. Sixty-nine military personnel have been deployed to help, and authorities expect the remaining baggage issues to be cleared within about a week.
