BANGKOK, Thailand – A 29-year-old patient is fighting for her life in intensive care after falling from the seventh floor of a building at Mukdahan Hospital on 26 September 2026. Sai Jai Charunsri was found on a third-floor balcony of the Chaloem Phra Kiat building and rushed to the ICU.

Police were alerted via the 191 radio centre, and officers from Mukdahan City Police Station attended with nursing staff, though officials initially withheld details. The woman had been receiving treatment in the Women’s Internal Medicine Ward 1 before the incident.

A relative of another patient in the neighbouring bed, 46-year-old Wattana Lunlila, said he had seen her walking around the ward several times and had not expected anything serious to happen, adding that she later went out towards the balcony before the fall.

Hospital staff provided emergency assistance before transferring her for treatment, and she remains under close supervision. Police and the hospital are investigating the cause and full circumstances, with no further official details released.
