Buddhist teacher severely injured in drive-by shooting

Pattani – A Buddhist teacher was severely injured in a drive-by shooting in Thailand’s southern border Pattani province Tuesday.

Somboon Jongderm, 57, a teacher of and an assistsant director of Royal Thai Army Uthit Don Yang School, was attacked at 12:30 pm while he was leaving his school in Tambon Bothong of Nongchik district.

Police said Somboon was shot by a pillion rider just 300 metres after he left the school.
