The shrine houses Shiva and Narayana statues carved from green stone and a Buddhist bas-relief to be at least 1,300 years old. Inside this fascinating complex visitors can admire the two pagodas, take a look at the giant Dragon statue, the Dragon Museum, several Chinese mythical bronze zodiac beasts, and a colonnade of Chinese deities.
Suphan Buri City Pillar Shrine is considered a sacred place by people in Suphanburi since ancient times. In the past the pavilion was built in Thai-style before being renovated to be in the style of Chinese building. In 1904, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) took a private journey to Suphanburi and held a sacrificial ceremony to the shrine.
Many Thai-Chinese worshipers do actually go there to pay respects as well as welcome the Chinese new year. The temple is respected for both, Thai and Chinese.
