SAMUT PRAKAN, Oct 25 – A Pakistani man was arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on suspicion of murdering a 41-year-old Thai woman in the northern province of Chiang Mai.
Syed Muhammad Ali, 41, was apprehended, with several items seized, at the check-in counter area of an international airline at the airport today.
Chiang Mai Provincial Court had earlier issued an arrest warrant for the suspect who is accused of murdering Duangduen Harris, a shop owner in Chiang Mai, on Oct 18.
Initially, the suspect told police investigators that he had a fight with the victim before killing her, escaping to Hat Yai district in the southern province of Songkhla, and preparing to flee the country.
Chiang Mai police have been contacted to take the suspect in for further prosecution.
