In a separate operation, Phuket Immigration also acted on a request from Turkish authorities to apprehend a 32-year-old Turkish national identified only as Mr. Taskin. Earlier this week, Turkish officials contacted Thai immigration to revoke Mr. Taskin’s permit to stay in Thailand. Following the request, his passport was canceled, and he was taken into custody. While the specific details of Mr. Taskin’s alleged crimes have not been disclosed, it is understood that he is wanted in Turkey for serious offenses. His arrest highlights the ongoing cooperation between Thai and international law enforcement agencies in tracking down fugitives.
