An Australian couple found themselves in handcuffs after targeting foreign tourists in Rawai, Phuket, snatching bags and a mobile phone from French and Russian victims.
Phuket Police Apprehend Colombian Snatch Thief Targeting Russian Tourist
On Wednesday, February 19th, Chalong Police received reports from two shaken tourists. Mr. G., a 41-year-old Frenchman, and Ms. T., a 29-year-old Russian, told authorities that two foreigners on a motorbike swiped their bag as they strolled outside a convenience store in Rawai. Later that evening, at 10:29 P.M., another victim, Ms. A., a 31-year-old Russian, reported a similar incident. She said the same two suspects sped by on a motorbike and snatched her iPhone 14 while she walked along Rawai Beach.

After a swift investigation, Chalong Police tracked down and arrested the culprits, identified as Sam, 25, and Susan, 36, both Australian nationals. The pair was apprehended at their accommodation in Chalong. Authorities have yet to release a motive for the thefts, as the suspects remained tight-lipped following their arrest.
