Authorities in Phuket have detained three foreign nationals for possession of illegal drugs during the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Thailand, a popular electronic dance music festival held over the weekend in Cherng Talay.

The suspects, identified as three men, are of Japanese, Malaysian and Myanmar nationality. Police found MDMA (ecstasy), methamphetamine, and small quantities of cocaine during routine checks at the festival venue. The drugs were reportedly concealed in personal belongings, including small pouches and hidden compartments in clothing.
The arrests occurred at separate checkpoints within the festival grounds, where attendees were being screened for prohibited items and substances. The suspects face charges of drug possession under Thai law, which carries severe penalties, including fines and imprisonment.
