Don Mueang Airport Terminal 1 Check-in

Don Mueang Airport Check-In System Failure Causes Long Delays

Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok faced significant disruptions on Saturday morning due to a malfunction in its automatic check-in system, resulting in long queues and delayed flights. The issue was eventually resolved, but the incident caused frustration among passengers and raised concerns about the airport’s system reliability.

Don Mueang International Airport recognized as one of the top ten budget airline terminals globally

The automatic check-in system at Don Mueang developed a technical problem at around 3:00 AM, affecting passengers attempting to check in for both domestic and international flights. The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) reported that the system gradually resumed operation at approximately 9:45 AM.

Several flights were delayed as a result, with passengers left waiting in long queues to check in manually. Airlines worked to reschedule affected flights and minimize inconvenience to travelers.

Airport staff were immediately deployed to assist passengers with manual check-in processes, aiming to expedite procedures and reduce waiting times. Announcements were made over the airport’s public address system to keep passengers informed about the situation.

The airport’s IT team collaborated with external technicians to identify and fix the issue. While the exact cause of the malfunction has not been disclosed, officials have stated that an internal systems review is underway.

Airlines operating from Don Mueang, including budget carriers such as AirAsia and Nok Air, experienced delays and operational challenges, with additional resources allocated to handle the fallout.

The Director of Don Mueang Airport, in a press release, apologized for the inconvenience caused and assured passengers that measures are being taken to prevent future system failures.
