Thai singer Chayada Prao-hom, a prominent Luk Thung and Mor Lam artist, tragically passed away in Udon Thani after experiencing severe complications following three massage sessions.
According to reports, two of the sessions included intensive neck manipulations. Shortly after these treatments, Chayada began experiencing numbness and significant pain, which progressively worsened over several weeks. She later developed severe swelling and lost much of her mobility before succumbing to complications related to a blood infection and brain swelling.
People who like neck massage or who practice violent neck tilting, to ease muscle or back tension, should be aware of the potential risk of paralysis, according to Professor Dr. Thiravat Hemachudha, an advisor to the College of Oriental Medicine at Rangsit University.

Her boyfriend stated that the massages were sought initially to alleviate back pain after a performance. Concerns are now being raised about whether the massage center adhered to proper safety standards.
