BANGKOK (NNT) – The government has reported significant progress in disaster prevention efforts across various regions, emphasizing preparations for potential flooding during the 2024 rainy season.
More rain forecast for Bangkok, provinces
Radklao Inthawong Suwankiri, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced that Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has instructed the Provincial and Bangkok Metropolitan Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Centers to gear up for the upcoming rainy season. Anutin emphasized the importance of adhering to the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act and the National Water Resources Office’s measures for the rainy season.
Key actions include monitoring weather conditions, developing flood response plans, inspecting water retention and drainage facilities, and issuing timely warnings.
