At 10:20 PM, on February 29th, 2024, the Ayutthaya Provincial Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and relevant agencies were dispatched to suppress fires at a warehouse storing 4,000 tonnes of chemicals in dispute under a police process for disposal in Phachi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

The warehouse was engulfed in flames and thick black smoke covered the area. The firefighters extinguished and suppressed the flames to spread to adjacent warehouses. The firefighter squad was able to control the situation after roughly two hours.
