Wat Tham Suea is a magnificent Thai Buddhist temple located at the top of a hill near Wat Tham Khao Noi, a extremely beautiful temple decorated in Chinese style. Both temples are situated about 15 kilometers south of Kanchanaburi town.
On the top of the hill, a imposing 18 meter tall golden Buddha in blessing posture sits on the side of Wat Tham Suea, however, the two main buildings, specially the spectacular 69 meters high chedi of Wat Tham Suea and the Chinese pagoda of Wat Tham Khao Noi, are the main attraction for tourists. Wat Tham Suea means Tiger Cave Temple while Wat Tham Khao Noi means Little Hill Cave Monastery. When we visited the temple its caves were closed to the public.
The temples are also called the twin sisters of Kanchanaburi.
