Two weeks ago Pattaya residents were surveyed about the effects of a Casino on the community. The group that is proposing the casino to the government has not released the results but social media forums are buzzing with rumors.
Experts such as the president of the Bank of Ayudya and a top Hotel exec who wished to remain anonymous are reviewing the proposals and although neither support gambling personally they feel differently in the context of economic policy.
If gambling is good for Thailand’s economy the moral implications can be dealt with by having a solid plan in place to make people aware of the pitfalls of gambling, similar to the support groups Vegas has with the tagline, “When the fun Stops.”
