BANGKOK, 13 December 2013 (NNT) – People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) leader Suthep Thueksuban announced on Thursday that the heads of the armed forces and the supreme commander have agreed to allow him to meet them to explain the PDRC’s push for the setting up of a “people’s council”
Royal Thai Police Spokesman Piya Uthayo disclosed on Thursday that national police chief Adul Saengsingkaew confirmed protest leader Suthep Thueksuban had requested a meeting with him to explain the PDRC’s resons for its rally. According to the spokesman, Police General Adul declined such meeting because as an enforcer of the law, he was bound to act cautiously. Police Major General Piya added that the national police chief had talked with the commanders of the armed forces and the supreme commander, and they had asserted they would maintain a similar standpoint.
