A drug gang were involved in a shoot out with police as they tried to deliver 2,000 amphetamine pills to a customer. They threw the drugs away and fled the scene.
PATTAYA – December 24, 2013 [PDN]; at 3.00 a.m. while Pol. Capt. Narong Prajim (Deputy Inspector of Nong Prue police station, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province) was patrolling with forces of police team and Nong Prue volunteer police and arrived at the road of Chang village route, Moo 13 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. They found 2 suspicious men driving a motorbike (1 driver together with 1 passenger on the same motorbike) in the direction of Thoongklom – Tarn Marn. The police identified themselves to the 2 men but they sped off so the officers chased after them.
Suddenly the 2 suspects lost control of the motorbike and fell down on the road. The passenger ran into the Tapioca forest on the side of the road but the other one tried to flee and on the motorbike. The police team and volunteer police then chased after the suspect who ran into the forest but he started shooting back at the officers to deter them from pursuing him.
