BANGKOK, 11 October 2013 (NNT) – Nine tourist provinces in Thailand have been affected by flooding, damaging the tourism sector to the tune of over 708 million baht, said the Tourism and Sports Minister.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Somsak Phureesrisak said the nine provinces included Phitsanulok, Ayutthaya, and Ubon Ratchathani. Although the floods spared most tourist sites and accommodations, they affected tourist confidence and damaged roads, making it harder for tourists to travel.
