SONGKHLA, May 17 – Nearly 100 endangered pangolins — popularly known as scaly anteaters — were rescued by Thai customs officials while they were being smuggled to a third country.
A pick-up truck was intercepted by an investigation team from Regional Customs Bureau 4 while heading to Chana district of the southern border province of Songkhla with a cargo of the protected species, en route to Bangkok in order to await transfer across border.
