PHETCHABURI, 11 March 2013 (NNT) – A 100,000-baht-bounty is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a local gang suspected of killing an elephant in Kaeng Krachan National Park.
Assistant national police chief Pol Gen Jarumporn Suramanee called a meeting with the Park’s investigation team, soldiers and police in Phetchaburi province to discuss the gathering of evidence to track down the assailants.
The female elephant believed to be pregnant was shot dead near a creek in the forest complex last week. The animal suffered several wounds, including four suspected bullet holes.
