PATTANI, Feb 9 — A joint security force in the southern province of Pattani on Saturday killed a leading member of an insurgent group who had 11 outstanding arrest warrants and was involved in the recent murder of a teacher in Narathiwat.
Pol Maj-Gen Ekapop Prasitwattanachai, the Pattani police chief led a team of police, military and forensic expert to inspect the scene after the 26th Special Task Force of the Royal Thai Navy’s Marine Corps engaged in a gun battle with a leading member of an insurgent group in Taluban subdistrict of Sai Buri district.
