BANGKOK, 19 September 2012 (NNT) – There has been an official warning for people in various part of the country to brace themselves against possible flash flood and mudslide.
The National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC) Director Somsak Khaosuwan said on Tuesday that recent heavy rain in various parts of Thailand will likely bring about wild flood and mudslide, especially in at-risk provinces, including Uttaradit, Phrae, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong and Phang Nga provinces.
Mr. Somsak said that locals living near any waterway and the foot of the hill in those areas should be aware of the possibility of flood-induced natural disasters, particularly when water turns orange or trees are unusually rumbling near.
