BANGKOK, 25 August 2012 (NNT) – The Airports of Thailand (AOT) has stepped up its security measures at the Hat Yai Airport, following continued violent incidents in the southern border region.
AOT President, Flying Officer Anirut Thanomkulabutra, said that, in a move to prevent any act of terror and to assure the public of their safety following a series of violent attacks in the southern border provinces, the AOT has increased its security measures at the Hat Yai Airport.
In doing so, thorough inspection of people coming in and leaving the airport, along with more CCTV installations as well as bomb squads have been implemented both inside the terminal and in the parking area of the airport.
The stepped-up measures have been introduced under the collaboration of the air force personnel, the army, the police and related agencies.
