Twenty families fled their homes in Krabi’s Muang district yesterday as two tambon were hit by forest run-off water after a night of heavy downpours.
Some 20 rescue workers and police officers assisted the flood victims in Tubprik and Muang sub-districts at 6am. The kamnan of Tubprik sub-district, Suppachai Kerdsuk, said that following heavy rain since 6pm, he and village headmen alerted residents to move their belongings and prepare for evacuation as the area was flood-prone.
