BANGKOK, Feb 28 – Thailand’s Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced 68-year-old Surachai Danwattananusorn to 15 years in jail for speeches judged to have insulted the monarchy, but his prison term was reduced by half to seven and a half years due to his confession.
Mr Surachai, also known as Surachai Sae Dan, led “Red Siam,” a Red Shirt faction.
