The country’s first super maximum security facility will be located in the Khlong Phai area of Nakhon Ratchasima’s Sikhiu district.
The Corrections Department touts the project as a silver bullet to combat drug dealings inside prisons.
Suchart Wonganantachai, director-general of the department, said 60 per cent of the 1,000 high-profile drug-related convicts rounded up from around the country would be accommodated in solitary cells.
