Rubber farmers in Betong District of Yala Province haven’t been able to collect rubber for seven consecutive days because a Bengal tiger has been detected in the area. They have pleaded that officials deal with the situation before physical harm comes to themselves or their livestock.
More than 50 local officials, including the Border Police, have set up numerous wooden traps in the areas where locals have spotted the tiger or where footprints have been found.
