BANGKOK, 20 September 2011 (NNT) – BAngkok BMA Deputy Governor Mr. Theerachon Manomaipiboon revealed that the area around Khlong Lot was being re-landscaped to pave the way for a night market project which had been proposed by the BMA.
According to Mr. Threerachon, there was the need to improve the area around Sanam Luang which also prompted the relocation of over 900 vendors to Khlong Lot.
The location where vendors are now is littered with garbage and out of order. The BMA decided to give it a make over and turn it into a walking street and theme night market. The night market will be divided into 4 zones including antique, electronics, second-hand items, flower and food zones.
According to the Deputy Governor, the BMA will discuss and consult with related agency before the renovation could begin. Atsadang and Rachini roads have been included in the plan for the night market meanwhile, it will expand all the way to Sakae and Sathian alley ways.
