Thailand’s Election Commission confident to complete MP endorsement today

BANGKOK, 27 July 2011 (NNT) – The Election Commission (EC) has promised that it will complete the MP status endorsement for 95% of the elected candidates, or 475 members, today as the commission is having a meeting on the matter since this morning.

Election Commissioner Sodsri Satayathum stated that the EC started its meeting at 10.00 hrs in order to continue the consideration to certify MP status for elected candidates. She said the result of the consideration should be known by 15.00 hrs.

The commissioner noted that 95% of the elected candidates should be certified today, including Pheu Thai elected MP candidates Jatuporn Prompan and Natthawut Saikua whose MP status endorsement was hold up due to election complaints.
