BANGKOK, 18 July 2011 (NNT) – The Ministry of Public Health has put all hospitals situated on Thai-Cambodian borders on alert for possible clashes between troops of the two countries since the ruling for a temporary injunction on the border issue will be announced today afternoon.
According to Permanent Secretary for Public Health Medical Doctor Paijit Warachit, hospitals in Si Sa Ket, Surin and Ubon Ratchathani provinces have been ordered to reserve blood adequately, about 20-30 bags, as well as medical kits for treatment.
Moreover, patient transfer and transportation processes are also well prepared in order to be ready for possible violence, which might happen anytime. However, artillery exchanges between the two sides are not expected today.
