Thai PM Abhisit orders close watch on Red Shirt March 12 Rally In Bangkok

BANGKOK, 3 March 2011 (NNT) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has assigned security units to closely monitor the mass gathering of the anti-government United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) on 12 March.

Prime Minister Abhisit advised the UDD against surrounding the Parliament building while the no-confidence debate is taking place. He stressed that the debate must carry on despite the UDD rally.

The prime minister reiterated that the security units must monitor the situation closely and coordinate with the protest leaders in order to maintain peace and order.
