Four border patrol policemen were given a death sentence Wednesday for possessing a large number of metamphetamine tablets with the intent to sell. They were arrested in a sting operation three years ago.
The Criminal Court handed down the maximum penalty to the four Chiang Mai-based officers, overruling a legal condition that subjects convicts to a threefold sentence. The convictions over the use and forgery of documents, and the unauthorized possession of firearms were also overruled by the death sentence.
