The government should abandon its military approach and persue three-step peaceful means to quell violence in the three southernmost provinces, a Muslim leader said on Tuesday.
“The social strife can not be resolved by the military,” Kariya Kijjarak said in his capacity as confederation chairman of the 15 Central Islamic Committees representing the South.
Kariya urged the government to adopt three measures, including complete withdrawal of troops.
