Thai Red Shirt caravan leaves BKK to join rally in Chiang Mai

BANGKOK, 18 September 2010 (NNT) – The anti-government United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) has released a caravan of 50 red vehicles from Bangkok this morning heading north to join other groups of protestors in Chiang Mai.

An assemblage of the red-shirt UDD supporters has taken off on a journey from Bangkok this morning to the northern province of Chiang Mai to join the major demonstration planned for tomorrow to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the 2006 coup d’état. The caravan was released at 07.00 hrs from Big C Ladphrao, which is one of the UDD’s strongholds.
