Tourist authorities of Thailand have urged travelers from Britain to not cancel their vacation plans in wake of the state emergency being declared in Bangkok, post anti-Government demonstrators ended up briefly storming the Parliament during this week.
“This is an internal and domestic issue and is not aimed at tourists, who are not in any direct or immediate danger”, said a spokeswoman for the Thailand Tourism Authority (TAT). She was further quick to stress that the “red shirt” protestors, who are demanding that Oxford-educated Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to immediately dissolve the Parliament and call for a new election, have no plans whatsoever of occupying the airport at any time.
