NZ National & Pattaya Icon Detained on Weapons Violations

A New Zealand national has been arrested in Pattaya for impersonating a SWAT police officer and carrying live automatic firearms in public. Upon his arrest he was in possession of a large cache of automatic weapons and ammunition.

Pattaya, the 18th of February 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 6:00pm on Thursday Police Colonel Atisawit Kamonrat (Chon-Buri Immigration Superintendant) and a team of police swooped on the Yellow Hummer belonging to New Zealand national Mr. Robert Malcolm McInnes [47]. The police taskforce were acting on a tip-off that Mr. McInnes and associates had been parading around Pattaya and the surrounding area dressed in full SWAT police gear armed with automatic weapons and equipment.
